Her clinical work brings together psychiatric assessment, psychotherapy and trauma-informed care, with a focus on addiction, eating disorders, chronic stress and co-occurring presentations.

Dr Sarah Boss is Clinical Director at THE BALANCE and a specialist in psychiatry and psychotherapeutic medicine. She trained in medicine and psychotherapy in Vienna and has worked in senior clinical roles across addiction and eating-disorder treatment, including as an addiction specialist at the Anton Proksch Institute and as deputy medical director at The Kusnacht Practice.
Her clinical work brings together psychiatry, psychotherapy, trauma-informed care, functional and orthomolecular medicine, and neuromodulation. Her additional training includes neurofeedback, repetitive transcranial magnetic stimulation (rTMS), transcranial direct-current stimulation (tDCS), Somatic Experiencing and the Safe and Sound Protocol.
Dr Boss works within THE BALANCE’s multidisciplinary model, integrating psychiatric assessment and psychotherapy with carefully selected biological and nervous-system-focused interventions. Her work pays particular attention to trauma, addiction, eating disorders, chronic stress and the interaction between psychological and physical health.
Depending on the individual clinical formulation, her therapeutic approach may draw on cognitive and schema-based therapy, emotion-focused methods, EMDR, mindfulness-based stress reduction, Somatic Experiencing and the Safe and Sound Protocol. Neuromodulation and functional-medicine approaches are used as complementary components when clinically appropriate.
