Private, multidisciplinary residential care dedicated to one client at a time.
Entering treatment is a significant clinical, personal, and financial decision. We believe the proposed structure, scope, and cost of care should be clear before admission. The confirmed location, initial duration, scope of care, inclusions, and any known exclusions are defined in the treatment contract and corresponding invoice before admission.
Different Needs Require Different Forms of Care
THE BALANCE is our fully private residential treatment program, dedicated to one client at a time, with fees of CHF 100,000 per week.
Our wider group also includes COGNIFUL, providing personalized residential treatment within a carefully selected small community, from CHF 40,000 per week, and SENSES, a private healthspan program dedicated to one client at a time, from CHF 70,000 per week.
These programs differ in their purpose, clinical scope, residential model, and degree of individualization. They are not different levels of the same service. Our Admissions team considers the individual’s needs and circumstances before recommending the most appropriate pathway.
One Standard of Residential Care
THE BALANCE offers one standard of fully private residential care. It is not divided into accommodation, service, or clinical tiers. The composition and intensity of treatment are personalized according to the client’s condition, treatment history, medical requirements, stability, privacy needs, and personal circumstances, while the standard of clinical oversight, multidisciplinary coordination, and personal attention remains consistent. The dedicated team, private residence, daily schedule, and treatment structure are reserved for one client, and every element must have a clear clinical or practical purpose within the individual treatment plan.
What Is Included
Assessment and Clinical Planning
Treatment begins with a comprehensive review of the client’s psychiatric, psychological, and physical health, treatment history, medication, sleep, nutrition, substance use, and relevant risk factors. The multidisciplinary team develops an individualized treatment plan, which is reviewed and adapted as the clinical picture becomes clearer.
Personalized Clinical Care
Interventions are selected and sequenced according to clinical relevance. Not every client requires every treatment modality. Depending on the individual’s needs, treatment may include:
- Individual psychotherapy
- Psychiatric care and medication review
- Medical oversight
- Addiction treatment and relapse-prevention planning
- Trauma-informed and trauma-focused treatment
- Eating-disorder and nutritional support
- Family and systemic work
- Somatic and body-based therapies
- Neurobiological interventions
- Biochemical assessment and restoration
- Integrative and supportive therapies
- Structured physical activity, recovery, and sleep support
Dedicated Team and Coordination
A dedicated multidisciplinary team is assembled around the client and works within one coordinated treatment plan. Care includes clinical case management, regular multidisciplinary review, coordination between the professionals involved, and communication with authorized family members, representatives, or existing treatment providers where appropriate. Privacy is embedded in the organization of the residence, team, communication, and daily schedule. It is not treated as an additional service.
Private Residence and Personal Support
The residential program includes a carefully selected private residence with controlled access and appropriate privacy arrangements. Meals, personal support, scheduling, and daily practical requirements are coordinated around the client’s clinical and personal needs. Local transportation is included where specified in the agreed program. The residential environment is intended to reduce unnecessary pressure and support engagement in treatment. Hospitality supports the clinical purpose of the stay; it does not replace it.
Transition and Aftercare
Transition planning begins during residential treatment rather than at the point of discharge. Every residential program includes three months of personalized aftercare. Depending on clinical need, this may include continued therapeutic contact, psychiatric follow-up, case management, family support, relapse-prevention support, and coordination with professionals in the client’s home location. The structure and frequency of aftercare are documented in the individual continuing-care plan.
Treatment Duration
Treatment duration is determined individually. The initial recommendation considers clinical complexity, psychiatric and medical stability, previous treatment history, immediate risk, treatment objectives, and the support likely to be required following discharge. The treatment plan is reviewed throughout the residential stay. If a material change to the agreed duration, treatment structure, or expected cost is recommended, it is discussed in advance with the client or authorized representative.
Medical Stabilization and Detoxification
Where clinically appropriate and safe, treatment may include support for medical stabilization, medication review, or detoxification. Some situations require hospital admission, specialist medical monitoring, or another level of care before private residential treatment can begin. When this is necessary, THE BALANCE can help coordinate the appropriate pathway and maintain continuity wherever possible. External hospital services and other third-party medical costs are included only when expressly stated in the agreed scope.
Costs Outside the Agreed Fee
The treatment contract and invoice specify the services included in the agreed fee. Foreseeable additional costs are identified before the contract is signed. Additional services are not arranged without prior discussion and authorization, except when immediate action is required to protect the client’s health or safety. Additional costs may apply to:
- Emergency or acute hospital treatment
- External specialist consultations, diagnostics, or procedures not included in the agreed scope
- Medications or other third-party medical charges not included in the agreed scope
- Exceptional private security, aviation, or travel requirements
- Accommodation, transportation, or services for accompanying parties
- Material changes to staffing or residential arrangements requested after admission
- Continuing care beyond the included three-month period or agreed frequency
How Admission Is Confirmed
1. Confidential Assessment Call
The process begins with a confidential call with our Admissions team. Its purpose is to understand the current situation, relevant treatment history, immediate concerns, practical requirements, and the level of care being considered.
2. Additional Information
If further information is required, we request relevant clinical reports, medication details, or other records with the client’s authorization.
3. Multidisciplinary Review
The case is reviewed by the appropriate members of our multidisciplinary team. We then confirm whether admission can be offered and, if so, the recommended location, initial duration, and treatment structure. Admission is based on clinical suitability and safety. The ability to fund treatment does not guarantee admission.
4. Contract, Invoice, and Payment
Once admission is confirmed, the treatment contract and invoice are prepared for the defined scope of care. The contract must be signed and the invoiced amount paid in advance before treatment begins. Any potential reimbursement from an insurer or another payer remains the responsibility of the client and cannot be guaranteed.
What If THE BALANCE Is Not the Appropriate Option?
Not every inquiry should lead to admission. If THE BALANCE is not clinically appropriate, our Admissions team will explain this clearly. Where suitable, we may discuss COGNIFUL or SENSES as distinct programs within our wider group. If none of our programs provides the appropriate level, setting, or specialization, we can help identify a reputable external provider or another appropriate next step. Where treatment cannot be pursued for practical or financial reasons, we are also happy to offer considered guidance without reducing the clinical structure of THE BALANCE to meet a particular budget.
