I denna artikel kommer vi att förklara mer om hur cannabis och olika cannabispreparat påverkar kroppen, tecken på cannabismissbruk, biverkningar som kan uppkomma vid intag av cannabis och mycket mer.
Det finns flera tecken som kan uppkomma om en person missbrukar cannabis. Några av de vanligaste tecknen är höjd puls, muntorrhet, röda ögon, hunger och sötsug. Cannabis påverkar också hjärnan i hög grad och intag av cannabis kan därför leda till problem med minnet, koncentrationssvårigheter och svårigheter med att lära dig nya saker. Personer som missbrukar cannabis kan också lida av ångest, förvirring, försämrad motorik och vanföreställningar.
Haschögon
Hasch är ett av de preparat som utvinns från Cannabis och ett tydligt tecken på att en person har rökt hasch är att personen får så kallade haschögon. Den som röker hasch kan få rödsprängda ögon och större pupiller och ibland benämns detta för haschögon.
Cannabis är som nämnt en grupp narkotiska preparat som härstammar från plantan Cannabis sativa. Dessa preparat är klassade som narkotika och cannabis är den vanligaste narkotikan i Sverige. Därmed är det olagligt för privatpersoner att använda och hantera dessa substanser. Dock finns det vissa läkemedel som innehåller cannabis men dessa är endast lagliga att använda om de har skrivits ut av en läkare.
Några av de vanligaste cannabispreparaten är hasch och marijuana. Hasch produceras av en klibbig kåda som produceras av Cannabis-plantan och av växtdelar tillsammans med bindemedel. Dessa ämnen pressas sedan samman till vad som kallas för hasch-kakor. Marijuana består istället av torkade växtdelar, frön, blomskott och blad från Cannabis sativa. Både hasch och marijuana innehåller substansen tetrahydrocannabinol (THC) och det är denna substans som orsakar det rus som uppkommer när man intar hasch eller marijuana.
Påverkan av cannabis varierar från person till person och ruset varar olika länge beroende på hur drogen används. Hur cannabisruset upplevs beror bland annat på hur mycket man röker och hur ofta. Då cannabis röks upplevs ruset oftast som mest intensivt efter 15–30 minuter och försvinner sedan gradvis. I början av ruset känner sig användaren ofta avslappnad, pratig och kanske fnittrig. Därefter övergår ruset i att personen kan känna sig mer kreativ, insiktsfull, lugn och positiv, men personen kan också bli mer avskärmad och inåtvänd. Mot slutet av ruset blir rökaren mer passiv både fysiskt och mentalt. Här kan både korttidsminnet och inlärningsförmågan vara sämre i upp till 1–2 dagar efter att man har rökt cannabis.
Vid användning av cannabis kan flera biverkningar uppkomma och dessa kan såklart variera mellan olika personer. Eftersom cannabis påverkar hjärnan i hög grad kan flertalet biverkningar relaterade till kognitiva funktioner påverkas. Detta inkluderar minnet, uppmärksamhet, koncentration samt analys- och planeringsförmåga. Dessutom upplever många som intar cannabis att de får ångest, förvirring, försämrad balans och motorik samt vanföreställningar under ruset.
Ytterligare biverkningar av cannabis inkluderar höjd puls, muntorrhet, röda ögon, förstorade pupiller, hunger och sötsug. Dessutom kan användning av cannabis utlösa ångestattacker som ibland kan leda till panikångest. Cannabis kan också utlösa akut psykos antingen direkt vid intag eller upp till några veckor efter intag. Denna psykos yttrar sig som upprymdhet, vanföreställningar, hallucinationer och ibland även aggressivitet hos användaren.
Vid upprepad användning av cannabis kan flertalet negativa effekter på kroppen uppkomma. Här kommer vi gå igenom flertalet av dessa negativa effekter.
Hjärnan
Det är speciellt hjärnan som påverkas negativt eftersom cannabis främst påverkar hjärnan. Cannabismissbruk kan leda till långvariga nedsättningar av hjärnans kognitiva funktioner och dessa nedsättningar finns ofta kvar i flera veckor efter senaste användningen av cannabis. Dessa nedsättningar av hjärnans kognitiva funktioner inkluderar sämre förmåga att hantera komplex information, sämre korttidsminne och att du känner dig apatisk. Dessutom kan du få svårt att koncentrera dig och lära dig nya saker samt bli deprimerad.
De negativa psykiska effekterna av cannabis går över en tid efter att användningen av cannabis har upphört men hur fort man återhämtar sig och vilka negativa effekter man känner av beror på många olika individuella faktorer.
Immunförsvaret
Cannabisanvändande påverkar också immunförsvaret negativt och kan därför leda till en minskad motståndskraft mot förkylningar och sjukdomar hos användaren. Kombinationen av den negativa effekten av att röka cannabis och nedsatthet av immunförsvaret innebär också att användande av cannabis leder till en risk för att utveckla olika rökrelaterade sjukdomar. Detta inkluderar cancer och bronkit.
Könsorgan
Cannabismissbruk har också flera negativa effekter på könsorganen och sexlivet. Hos män kan det bland annat leda till impotens, minskad sexlust och minskad spermieproduktion. Kvinnor kan få oregelbunden och utebliven menstruation vid missbruk av cannabis och vid graviditet kan cannabisanvändande leda till missfall och missbildningar på nyfödda.
Mentala och sociala problem
Det finns också flertalet mentala och sociala problem som ofta uppkommer vid cannabismissbruk. Om det gäller en ung person kan det ofta leda till svårigheter att hänga med i skolan och för äldre personer kan det bli svårt att fungera på en arbetsplats. Cannabismissbruk leder ofta också till problem i relationer till vänner, partners eller familj.
Främst på längre sikt kan cannabis bidra till att man känner sig apatisk och deprimerad. Det är också vanligt att man känner oro och psykoser kan också utlösas. Det är också vanligt att personer som använder cannabis får hallucinationer, vilket innebär att en person kan se, höra och uppleva saker som andra inte ser, hör eller upplever. Allt detta kan i sin tur också skapa problem i det sociala livet. Generellt är det fler män än kvinnor som använder cannabis och cannabisanvändare anger i högre grad att de har psykisk ohälsa och använder också oftare andra droger.
Hasch är som nämnt ett av de preparat som utvinns från Cannabis sativa och ett av de vanligaste cannabispreparaten. Dagen efter att man har rökt hasch är det vanligt att uppleva flertalet negativa biverkningar. Exakt vilka biverkningar man upplever varierar såklart från person till person. Dock är det vanligt att man känner sig väldigt trött dagen efter man rökt hasch och vissa kan också känna sig irriterad och allmänt nedstämd. Vissa kan också känna av ett starkt sug efter att röka mer hasch och detta gäller speciellt för personer som har använt hasch ett tag och skapat ett beroende. Man kan också ha en försämrad koordinationsförmåga och minnesförlust.
Weed är ett en annan benämning på marijuana som också kommer från Cannabis sativa. Hur länge man är hög på weed efter intag beror på flera faktorer. Det kan vara alltifrån 2 till 10 timmar och beror bland annat på dessa faktorer:
- Hur mycket weed du intar
- Hur du intar weed
- Hur mycket THC (substansen som orsakar ruset) det innehåller
- Din kroppsvikt och kroppsfettnivå
- Din metabolism
- Om du intar det på tom eller full mage
- Din tolerans mot weed
Generellt gäller att ju mer weed du intar och desto mer THC det innehåller, desto längre kommer du att vara hög. Dessutom påverkas detta av hur du intar weed. Om du t.ex. röker eller använder dig av vaping så kan effekten sitta i upp till 8 timmar. Om du istället intar en ätbar form av weed så kan effekten vara så länge som 24 timmar.
Biverkningar marijuana
Vid intag av marijuana kan flera biverkningar uppkomma. Detta inkluderar bland annat huvudvärk, muntorrhet, torra ögon, yrsel, dåsighet och trötthet. Marijuanaanvändning kan också orsaka illamående och kräkningar, desorientering, hallucinationer, ökad hjärtfrekvens och ökad aptit. Eftersom marijuana också har en stark negativ påverkan på hjärnan så kan intag av marijuana sänka uppmärksamhetsförmågan, omdömesförmågan och koordinationen. Dessutom kan marijuana påverka minnet och andra kognitiva funktioner negativt.
Det kan också orsaka skadliga effekter på hjärta och kärl med bland annat högt blodtryck som konsekvens. Långtidsanvändning av marijuana kan också försämra andningsfunktionen. Eftersom marijuana minskar aktiviteten i det centrala nervsystemet kan det också orsaka förlorande av medvetandet vid högre intag.
Som nämnt är cannabis den vanligast förekommande narkotikan i Sverige. I och med att det är narkotikaklassat är det också olagligt för privatpersoner att inneha eller använda cannabis. Därmed kan även mindre narkotikabrott leda till bland annat en månads fängelse eller mer. Dock finns det vissa läkemedel som innehåller cannabis men dessa är endast lagliga att använda om de har skrivits ut av en läkare. Några av de vanligaste cannabispreparaten är hasch och marijuana. Båda dessa preparat är vanliga i Sverige.
Som nämnt innehåller vissa läkemedel cannabis på grund av de smärtdämpande och lugnande effekterna som cannabispreparat har. När cannabis används i läkemedel kallas det för medicinsk cannabis och antalet patienter som använder medicinsk cannabis för olika sjukdomar växer nu i Sverige.
En av de vanliga bieffekterna av cannabisanvändning är ångest. Denna ångest kan bland annat uppkomma på grund av abstinens, det vill då personen inte använder cannabis. Denna abstinensrelaterade ångest och andra abstinenssymtom som svettningar, sömnstörningar, irritation, oro, orolig mage, snuva och hosta kan lätt leda till att personen har svårt att avhålla sig från att använda cannabis. Detta kan snabbt leda till ett beroende och kontinuerligt intag av cannabis.
Hur länge cannabis stannar i kroppen efter intaget beror på flera faktorer.
Några av de faktorer som påverkar detta är:
- Hur mycket cannabis du intar
- På vilket sätt du intar cannabis
- Hur mycket THC (substansen som orsakar ruset) det innehållerDin kroppsvikt och kroppsfettnivå
- Din metabolism
- Om du intar det på tom eller full mage
- Din tolerans mot cannabis
Generellt gäller att ju mer cannabis du intar och desto mer THC det innehåller, desto längre stannar det kvar i kroppen. Dessutom påverkas detta av hur du intar cannabis. De flesta substanser som ingår i cannabis bryts ned i levern, men eftersom en del lagras i fettvävnaden så utsöndras de under lång tid. Därför kan cannabis finnas kvar i kroppen i mer än 6 veckor. Generellt är cannabis spårbart i kroppsvätskor under 1 till 30 dagar efter det sista intaget men precis som för andra droger så kan det vara spårbart i hår under flera månader.
När man väl har hamnat i ett cannabismissbruk så kan det vara svårt att ta sig ur. Det är därför väldigt viktigt att få professionell hjälp med detta så att man har bästa chansen att återgå till ett normalt liv. Sån tur är finns det flera behandlingar för cannabismissbruk och nedanför kommer vi att gå igenom de vanligaste.
-Farmakologisk behandling
Idag finns det inga egentliga läkemedel som kan användas för behandling av cannabisberoende. Dock finns det visst stöd för behandling med acetylcystein men än så länge är verkningsmekanismen inte känd och denna effekt är endast påvisad i små och få studier.
-Psykologiska och psykosociala insatser
En av de vanligaste behandlingarna av missbruk och beroende av cannabis är så kallade psykologiska och psykosociala insatser. Detta inkluderar olika program som exempelvis haschavvänjningsprogrammet (HAP) och återfallsprevention (ÅP). Det är också vanligt att kognitiv beteendeterapi (KBT) används som behandling för cannabismissbruk. KBT lägger fokus på att belysa och förklara teorin om tankars och känslors betydelse för beteenden och detta används som en strategi för att komma till rotorsaken till ett cannabisberoende. Tillsammans med den beroende gör psykologen en noggrann kartläggning av vilka tankar och känslor som gör att personen fortsätter missbruka cannabis eller återfaller i missbruk. Tanken med denna kartläggning är att personen ska bli medveten om vilka tankar och känslor hos personen som kan påverka missbruksbeteendet och därmed lära sig hur dessa tankar och känslor kan hanteras för att undvika återfall.
Behandlingsprogrammen ovan och KBT brukar med fördel kombineras med så kallade motiverande samtal (MI) för att öka den cannabisberoendes chans att få en positiv effekt av behandlingen.
-Behandling för ungdomar
I och med att cannabisanvändning och beroende dessvärre är relativt vanligt hos unga finns det speciella behandlingsprogram som rekommenderas för ungdomar. Det finns bland annat ett cannabisprogram för ungdomar (CPU) som har utvecklats från haschavvänjningsprogrammet. Dessutom rekommenderas andra behandlingsmetoder som Motivationshöjande behandling (MET) som ofta kombinerad med KBT och MI i kombinationsprogram för ungdomar med alkohol- och narkotikaproblem. För ungdomar kan det också vara vanligt med familjebehandling där man fokuserar på att inkludera familjen som ett stöd för den cannabisberoende.
