- Det innebär att man inte kan se alltid på en person om de lider av det eller inte.

Psykisk ohälsa är ett dolt handikapp. Det innebär att man inte kan se alltid på en person om de lider av det eller inte. Det är inte som att vara förlamad eller att gå med en arm gipsad. En del av svenskarna lider av psykisk ohälsa. Beroende på definitionen så är gruppen olika stor. Vad detta beror på har olika förklaringar och det finns ingen universell modell för att förklara hur en psykisk sjukdom eller ohälsa uppstår.
Psykisk ohälsa är ett brett koncept som innefattar många olika tillstånd och sjukdomar. Kort sagt kan man säga att det är när kroppen inte fungerar som den ska och det inte finns en tydlig fysisk orsak. Man kan argumentera att hjärnan, där psyket utgår ifrån, är en del av den fysiska kroppen. Men de processer som sker där är ju en del av det som uppstår i hjärnan.
Sveriges bästa behandlingshem för psykisk ohälsa
Det måste skiljas åt från det fysiska då det inte är lika lätt att identifiera och kvantifiera. Psykisk ohälsa som begrepp innefattar allt från ångest och depression till bipolär sjukdom och schizofreni. Spektrumet är otroligt brett.
Viss psykisk ohälsa kan man ta en tablett eller gå ett par gånger i terapi för att råda bot på eller i alla fall kunna lära sig hantera. Annan leder till att man inte kan ta hand om sig själv och behöver vårdas på sjukhus i långa perioder. Men det är inte bara dessa ytterligheter. Psykisk ohälsa är även allt det som ryms där emellan.
Det finns de som lider av ångest som inte kan hantera vardagen och bor på speciella boenden. Samtidigt så finns det de som har samma problematik men mycket lättare där ångesten snarare bli en del av en välfungerande vardag.
Det är svårt att säga ett tecken eller ett symtom som skulle indikera på psykisk sjukdom. Detta då det är ett väldigt stort begrepp med många olika åkommor och sjukdomar.
Dock så kan man peka på olika symtom som är vanliga för specifika tillstånd. Om man tittar på de som lider av paranoid schizofreni så är just den paranoida delen väldigt dominerande. På samma gång så hör de i stor utsträckning röster som i själva verket inmte är där.
En anledning till att de hör röster är, enligt en teori, att de inte kan identifiera sin inre monolog som sin egen. Att de antar att de är en främmande röst de hör. I själva verket är det samma inre monolog som alla människor har.
Om man tittar på en person som lider av någon form av ångest så är oron och att man bekymrar sig en stor del av ens vardag. Det behöver inte vara saker som egentligen är en orsak till att man skulle behöva bekymra sig eller oroa sig. Men det blir något som orsakar detta i och med ångesten.
En person som lider av depression är nedstämd stora delar av tiden och känner att han eller hon har förlorat hoppet om mycket i livet. Vardagen ter sig nattsvart och sådant som tidigare har orsakat glädje och vällust har ingen effekt alls.
Symtom på psykisk sjukdom hos vuxna?
Det finns vissa skillnader mellan hur psykisk sjukdom syns hos ungdomar och vuxna. Ungdomar drabbas sällan av schizofreni. Det är en sjukdom som oftast debuterar efter 20 årsdagen, men före det att personen fyllt 25. Detta har med utvecklingen av hjärnan att göra.
Men det finns också många sjukdomar och tillstånd som överlappar mellan åldersgruppen. Barn och ungdomar kan, precis som vuxna, drabbas av ångest. Den kan vara olika djup och märkas på olika sätt. De olika åldersgrupperna kan också alla drabbas av depressioner.
Det är vanligt att vissa av dessa tar sig uttryck i självskadebeteende och ätstörningar. En människa med självskadebeteende kan skära sig eller dra loss sitt eget hår. Många berättar att detta är ett sätt att avleda exempelvis ångesten. Att tänka och känna något annat en stund. Dessa beteenden kan vara väldigt farliga och bör behandlas av specialister.
Forskarna och läkarna debatterar än idag orsakerna till varför vissa drabbas av psykisk sjukdom och andra inte. En vanlig förklaringsmodell är att titta på arv och miljö.
- Arv innebär det man har ärvt från föräldrarna. Alltså sådan som är genetiskt betingat och förs över den vägen.
- Miljö innebär den miljö man befinner sig i och till exempel växer upp i.
De flesta menar att det finns ett samspel där. Att båda delarna spelar roll. Att en person som har anlag för psykisk sjukdom som befinner sig i en viss miljö då har lättare att utveckla en psykisk sjukdom. Att miljö samspelar med genetiken på så sätt att den kan vara acceptabel för en person, men en annan med ett visst anlag får det mer kämpigt.
En annan förklaringsmodell, som angränsar till den vi just snuddade vid, är den som handlar om känslighet. Den innebär att alla människor är mer eller mindre känsliga för exempelvis stress av olika slag eller trauman. En person som inte är så känslig men som bär på anlag för schizofreni kan klara en väldigt stressig period i livet bra.
En person som är känsligare och har precis samma anlag kan då schizofrenin debutera för på grund av den stressiga perioden.
Psykisk ohälsa bland unga orsaker
Dessa teorier kan förklara hur unga utvecklar olika tillstånd och sjukdomar också. Samtidigt betyder de förhållanden som den unga personen befinner sig i mycket.
Dessa kan bland annat vara:
- Hur personen har det hemma. Är föräldrarna kränkande eller inte visar tillräckligt mycket kärlek och stöd?
- Skolsituationen. Är personen mobbad? Har personen vänner? Hänger han eller hon med i skolarbetet?
- Situationen utanför skolan som inte är i hemmet. Har personen fritidsintressen? Umgås personen med vänner?
Även anknytningsmönster är viktigt. Anknytningen är hur vi relaterar och knyter an till föräldrar och närstående. Det påverkar hur vi har relationer senare i livet och hur vi är i relation till andra människor. Om ett barn inte får rätt mängd kärlek och närhet och inte känner att barnet kan lite på föräldrarna. Då kan det skada barnet i andra relationer genom hela livet.
Denna osäkerhet kan även påverka ångest och depressionsmönster genom livet. Något som påverkar hela livssituationen.
Folkhälsomyndigheten har samlat ihop och tagit fram data och statistik kring psykisk ohälsa i Sverige. Den visar att de absolut flesta, 86%, anser sig ha ett bra psykiskt välbefinnande och att det inte skiljer sig så mycket mellan könen.
Dock är det fler kvinnor än män som säger sig ha någon form av psykiska besvär. Samma relation gäller mellan den unga delen av befolkningen och den äldre. Vad detta beror på kan vara att det är olika accepterat i olika grupper i samhället att tala om sitt psykiska välbefinnande.
Unga kvinnor uppger oftare att de drabbats av depression vid ett eller flera tillfällen än vad män i samma ålder gör. För män i samma ålder är siffrorna ungefär likadana som för äldre män och kvinnor, oavsett kategori. Statistiken visar också att personer med låg inkomst har en större förekomst av psykiska besvär.
Det innebär att flera minoritetsgrupper är överrepresenterade i statistiken. Kvinnor får oftare vård för sina psykiska åkommor än män. Man tror dock inte detta innebär att de är mer drabbade. Det handlar snarare om att de är mer benägna att söka vård.
Det finns många psykiska sjukdomar representerade i Sverige. I ett land på nästa 10 miljoner så finns det utrymme för många variationer. Några av de vanligaste är:
- Ångest.
Att man oroar och bekymrar sig mer än brukligt. - Depression.
Att man är nedstämd över en längre period och att det påverkar ens dagliga livsföring. Det sätter djupa spå och behöver ofta behandlas med medicin. ECT-behandling (el-chocker) förekommer också som behandlingsmetod. Ofta behöver personen professionell hjälp för att bryta sin depression. - Schizofreni.
Det är en psykossjukdom som förekommer i olika varianter. Den vanligaste är den paranoida schizofrenin. Då hör man dels röster och har andra hllucinationer. Samtidigt är man överdrivet misstänksam mot andra och ser samband mellan saker som inte existerar. Det är vanligt att dessa personer är överdrivet vaksamma mot poliser och andra auktoritetsfigurer. Ofta uppfattar de att folk vill dem illa när de i själva verket försöker att hjälpa dem. - Bipolär sjukdom.
Denna sjukdom kallades tidigare manodepressiv sjukdom. Den innebär att man går från depressioner till att vara manisk. Att vara manisk innebär att man har orimligt mycket energi och att man gör saker som man inte skulle göra när man inte är i den maniska fasen. Dessa personer har även perioder när de inte är påverkade av sjukdomen. - Fobier.
Det finns en mängd olika fobier. En fobi är en överdriven rädsla kring något. En vanlig fobi kretsar kring spindlar. Då blir man stel av skräck så fort man ser spindlar eller ens för dem på tal. Detta kan vara mycket handikappande för de som drabbas av det. Exponeringsterapi är ofta den enda terapiformen som biter på fobier. Då utsätter man personen i doser för det den är rädd för.
Det finns gott om andra psykiska åkommor och det finns många varianter. Men att lista alla här skulle ta enormt mycket plats.
